A Nomad trademark was an exclusive tailgate design featuring seven chrome trim bars. This trim was also accompanied by gold “Nomad” script above the gate handle.
The 1995 Chevrolet Nomad lacked the typical beltline dip found just behind the doors on other ’55 Chevrolet models. Save for the unique body side trim that began as headlight brows and extended back into the doors, a 1955 Nomad featured standard Bel Air sheet metal and trim from the cowl forward.
Remaining body components, however, were another story entirely. Most obvious was the two-door body and stylish roofline with sloping pillars. Glass area was extensive, adding to the sporty look.
The roof and full wheel openings were direct carry-overs from the 1954’s Corvette Nomad Motorama show car.
